Bakersfield to Palmdale Project Section Addendum Finding of Effect
The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) as part of the review of the Bakersfield to Palmdale Project Section has prepared a Addendum Finding of Effect (FOE) to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations, as these pertain to federally funded undertakings and their impacts on historic properties, and pursuant to Section 15150 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The purpose of the Addendum FOE is to assess effects on historic properties in Lancaster, California from engineering refinements made after the Bakersfield to Palmdale Project Section Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS).
The Authority has identified and evaluated additional historic-era architectural properties that could be potentially affected by the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Bakersfield to Palmdale Project Section. Identification and evaluation efforts within the study area resulted in the identification and conclusion that two (2) historic properties, 332 West Lancaster Boulevard and 44847 Trevor Avenue in the city of Lancaster are eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The Authority has determined that the project will not alter, directly or indirectly, any of the characteristics of the historic properties that qualify them for inclusion in the NRHP.
